Your conversations shouldn't belong to someone else.

The apps we use to talk to the people we love are owned by a handful of companies. Their owners decide what happens to our data, who they share it with, and who they sell to next. We get no say.

Privacy by structure, not by trust.

Big tech apps promise privacy, until their owners change the rules, sell the company or hand over your data. Manifest Messaging is end-to-end encrypted, and its privacy promises are written into the co‑op's founding documents, where they are legally locked in (see The guarantee below). No owner can sell you out, because the users are the owners.

  • No ads and no data sales, ever.
  • Can never be sold to a big tech company.
  • Open books: see how decisions are made and money is spent.

The home of the co‑op movement.

The co‑op movement is made of countless co‑ops and members, but it has no digital home of its own. Manifest Messaging is building one: an app where each co‑op can run its communication and decisions, and a connected network where co‑ops and their members find each other, learn from each other and work together. It's a digital co‑op ecosystem that doesn't exist yet.

  • Verified co‑op pages and public channels.
  • Member groups, ideas boards and secret ballots, built in.
  • A directory to discover co‑ops near you.

See it and try it.

Watch a short tour, then try the demo yourself. It's a working prototype: nothing is for sale and no real messages are sent.

One guarantee: it's owned by the people who use it.

Private by design.

Messages are end-to-end encrypted. We can't read them, and we never sell or share your data.

Owned by its users.

Users become members, and members elect most of the board. One member, one vote.

Can't be sold out.

Our mission is written into the co‑op's founding documents. Selling the co‑op, or dropping its privacy promises, is blocked by design.

Open about everything.

Members see how the co‑op is run, how money is spent and how decisions are made.

Use it. Own it. Have a say.

Manifest Messaging Enthusiasts

The 100 people who bring the most friends to the waitlist become Manifest Messaging Enthusiasts. Every three months they meet the founders on a video call to hear what's happening and shape what we build. They get an Enthusiast badge on their profile and are the first invited to the beta. The 100 are chosen when the waitlist reaches 500, and the group stays the same from then on.

The Manifesto

Our promise

Manifest Messaging exists to give people privacy and technology they own together. Not as customers of a company that could change its mind, but as members of a co‑op that can't.

What we will always do

  • Protect everything members share with the strongest privacy the technology allows, starting with end-to-end encryption for every message.
  • Give every member one vote, however long they've been here and whatever they've paid.
  • Show members how the co‑op is run: the decisions, the money and the results of every vote.
  • Keep privacy free on every plan.

What we will never do

  • Never sell the co‑op, or control of it, to an investor-owned company.
  • Never sell, rent or trade members' data.
  • Never show ads, build a backdoor or weaken encryption.
  • Never accept money that comes with control, or any money from a government.
  • Never let anyone buy more than one vote.

Why these promises hold

These promises aren't a policy page we can quietly edit. They're written into the co‑op's founding documents and protected so that a simple vote can't undo them, by the members or by us. The people who use it are the people who own it, so there is no outside owner to sell you out.

The home of the co‑op movement

Manifest Messaging is building the digital home the co‑op movement doesn't have yet: a connected ecosystem where co‑ops run their communication and decisions, and where co‑ops and their members find, learn from and work with each other.

Messaging is our first step, not our last

As the co‑op grows, it will expand into other platforms people depend on every day, built on the same principles and owned the same way.

Questions

When will the app be ready?

We're forming the co‑op now. An invite-only beta opens once the app is ready, and waitlist members are invited first.

Does it cost anything to join the waitlist?

No. The waitlist is free and nobody is asked for money.

What is a co‑op?

A business owned by the people it serves, like REI or a credit union. Members elect the board and share in what the co‑op builds.

Do I have to care about co‑ops to use Manifest Messaging?

No. Many people will join for the privacy alone. The co‑op structure is what guarantees that privacy: no owner can change the rules or sell your data, because the users are the owners.

Who is behind Manifest Messaging?

Manifest Messaging was started by Mahmoud Elfadil, an immigrant from Africa who works in healthcare and is grateful for what America's culture of entrepreneurship has taught him. He believes technology lets one person build something that changes things, and that a co‑op connects that power back to the people it serves, so the new AI and tech economy belongs to the many, not the few.

Will you only build messaging?

Messaging comes first. As the co‑op grows, it plans to expand into other platforms built on the same principles.
